Semen for sale

We are pleased to annonouce the release of a limited supply of semen in HH Advance 7034T in Australia. Semen is available in packages of 10 or more at $40 per straw, or by negotiation on larger quantities.

As always when using bulls out of the Holden Herd, you can be assured that he will have a great cow behind him and 7034 is no exception. His dam 1088 has been a donor at Holden's and is the number 1 Marbling cow in the herd.

In 7034’s first year of production he was a volume sire at the Holden Hereford Production Sale, siring 12 sons that topped at $10,000 for HH Advance 9111, pictured.

He also sired the top priced unjoined heifer at the 2010 Holden Female Sale at $16,000 as well as a bull at Churchill Herefords that sold for $16,000.

In 2011 7034 sired the "Pick of the Herd" heifer, and was the sire of 11 sons in the Holden Sale, that averaged $8909 and included HH Advance 0011X (pictured) who was on the cover of the catalogue and sold for $33,000.

7034T ranks in the top 7% for Weaning and Yearling weight as well as Milk and Growth, and is the top 15% for Milk and Marbling.

In 2010 I was able to attend the Holden Sale and inspect the 7034 progeny. They were easily the best coloured and pigmented group of bulls on offer and expressed tremendous overall thickness and muscle expression.

Whilst at Holden Herefords I had the pleasure of inspecting the cow herd and I was constantly impressed by their evenness of type, length of body, width of hip and tremendous udder quality.

The 3 year old heifers by 7034T's sire L1 Domino 03571 were amongst the best in their age group.

An added advantage of using bulls from Holden's, is the advantage that comes via the fact that the Holden herd is a closed breeding program. It results in the progeny being very consistent in type, and also gives you an advantage of between 10-15% hybrid vigor, if used on unrelated Hereford cows.

If you are looking to add some out cross genetics to your program this year, and are wanting to improve your herds milk and marbling EBV's, may I suggest you seriously consider using semen in HH Advance 7034T

This heifer is out of Ernie's dam, and is a great example of how these genetics can work. This calf has tremendous presence, softness and great thickness from the shoulder back over her hips.
